The existing Trex deck had significantly deteriorated due to prolonged UV exposure, which is especially harsh in this region. After removal, we identified and repaired structural damage to the joists and beams.
Due to limited clearance at the door thresholds, a standard top-mounted StoneDeks installation was not feasible. Instead, we installed Silca Grates between the joists, adding scabbed support along the interior of the framing to accommodate the system.
The original deck lacked proper slope, so we integrated drainage into the new design using the StoneDeks system. A liner was installed over the grates, and polymeric sand was used to create a firm, stable surface with no flex under foot traffic.
The result is a solid, durable deck system, and both the installation team and the customer are very satisfied with the outcome.
